If you are experiencing no dial tone, static, or a hum please do an unplug test first. To do an uplug test: unplug all phones and computers from their jacks and leave unplugged for at least 15 minutes. Doing this test resets your telephone lines and may solve the problem.

If the unplug test did not solve the issue, please check your network interface device (NID). It is usually a gray box on the outside of your home. There is a possibility the NID may be near your electric meter (on older homes, the box may be in the basement or in the attic). If you are able to, please take a corded phone out to this connection box and plug it in to try and duplicate the current issue.

If you have no dial tone, static, or a hum at the NID box you will need to contact CloseCall America customer care to open a trouble ticket. If you were not able to duplicate the problem at the NID box you may need to contact CloseCall America customer care to request a subcontractor visit for inside wiring.
