Organized by the American Lung Association of Maryland, the event will be held in Salisbury City Park.

"The 'Blow the Whistle on Asthma' Walk is a great way to increase awareness about childhood asthma, while at the same time raising money for local asthma programs and research," said Tom Mazerski, President & CEO of CloseCall America.

Child asthma rates have doubled in the past two decades and it is the leading cause of school absenteeism due to a chronic illness. This potentially fatal disease affects 143,000 children in Maryland.
