CloseCall America Announces Changes in Senior Management Team

Fast Growing Company Committed to Remaining in Maryland, Offering Lowest Prices

Stevensville, MD - CloseCall America, a telecommunications company specializing in low-priced community calling, today announced several changes in its senior management team and reaffirmed the company's dual commitment to continue expanding the fast-growing company from its Maryland headquarters and offering consumers the lowest prices available in 2002.

The senior management changes are as follows:

  • Tom Mazerski, President of CloseCall America and one of the original founders of the company, has been promoted to Chief Executive Officer. He will retain the title of President as well. Prior to helping launch CloseCall in 1999, Mazerski spent 19 1/2 years as an executive with Bell Atlantic. He resides in Mt. Airy, Maryland.

  • Mary Guerra, also an original founder of CloseCall America, returns to the company in a marketing and customer sales advisory role. She will report directly to CEO Tom Mazerski. For the past two years Guerra has served as an independent marketing consultant while completing her graduate degree at Johns Hopkins University. She resides in Woodbine, Maryland.

  • James D. Finn was named Chief Financial Controller after serving as a financial consultant to CloseCall in 2001. Prior to that, Finn headed a consulting practice that specializes in helping companies implement growth strategies. He resides in Arnold, Maryland.
"Our senior management team is an extremely capable and experienced group that will provide the vision and leadership necessary to grow this company," said President and CEO Tom Mazerski.

"We reached a major milestone recently with the connection of our 100,000 line and we expect to double that result over the next year. I know that Jim and Mary can help make that happen."
With this rapid growth CloseCall remains committed to staying in Maryland and plans to expand its current office space at 101 Log Canoe Circle in Stevensville, Maryland in the 2nd quarter of 2002. CloseCall currently has approximately 65 employees.

Furthermore, the company remains committed to offering the lowest prices available. On Tuesday, January 1, The Washington Post reported that the "big three" long distance companies, AT&T, MCI and Sprint, are raising their rates. CloseCall has no plans to raise rates or add any monthly or hidden charges like many companies.

"From the beginning we have been on the side of the consumer," Mazerski said. "We plan to continue to keep our prices low, while the industry giants continue to gouge consumers."
